Nestled in Esmeralda County, Nevada, Gold Point Ghost Town is a captivating destination that offers visitors a unique glimpse into the state’s rich mining history. Once a bustling silver mining camp, Gold Point is now a well-preserved ghost town that attracts history enthusiasts and adventure seekers from all over.
A Brief History
The story of Gold Point can be traced back to 1868 when the townsite was first established as Lime Point. However, the real boom came in 1927 when a miner named J.W. Unlike many other ghost towns, Gold Point was never officially abandoned. Instead, it has had a small population of dedicated residents throughout the years, adding a unique layer of authenticity to the town’s charm and character.
